DIY Glitter Shirts -
We have never been huge into Valentine's Day around here. Not in a bad way, just in that my wonderful hubby has never needed a certain mean solar day to tell him he needs to tell me he loves me. Now, that's not to say we don't celebrate. We just don't go over the top. Fifty-fifty before we had kids, we would go out to dinner for Valentines Twenty-four hour period, the day earlier Valentine's Day. Haha! Less crowds, no reservations needed, no 2 hour wait times. At present, with the kids, our Valentine's twenty-four hours is me and my boys and a heart shaped pizza. Just the way I like it.
Yet, I still like to be festive, and with my clothing capsule (hither and here) I am not into buying a shirt just for a holiday to wear once. But, that doesn't mean I couldn't brand 1! I take been seeing cute heart shirts everywhere lately, and figured information technology doesn't have to simply be for Valentine'southward day, so why not! I plant a manifestly black t-shirt and a plain gray sweatshirt in a box of dress I packed abroad before I got significant final year. Perfect for this project! And this DIY doesn't require a lot of drying time, and so you totally accept time to make it in time for Valentine's Day. Or, make information technology merely because.
For these tops, I used the same freezer paper stencil technique I did here. Instead of the textile ink, I used this Tulip fabric glitter mucilage and extra fine glitter. I made a red heart on the tshirt and a simple blackness XOXO on the sweatshirt.
Instructions:
ane. Create and apply your stencil like here.
2.Using a pocket-sized sponge, apply the glitter glue adhesive to the textile. Do not be stingy. Utilise a generous coat.
3. Sprinkle glitter over glue, making sure to encompass all the fabric inside the stencil.
4. Let dry for about 30 minutes, and so advisedly remove the stencil. Allow the design to dry for at least 2 hours.
5. Done! ( the mucilage I used advises waiting at to the lowest degree 48 hours before washing, and to wash alone in cold water and line dry.)
I will be wearing my t-shirt this weekend, since we are in the midst of a hither wave here in the desert. Looks like my sweatshirt will have to wait.
In other news and amusement…
Koa went to the dentist for the first time this week. His engagement was at 11.20, and starting at half-dozen am he was request to exit. What kid is excited to become to the dentist? Mine, that'southward who. For hours he was request when we could go out.
Koa: They are ready for me I call up Mommy.
Me: No, honey it is half dozen.30 in the forenoon. They are not gear up. The door is locked.
Koa: You have a key Mommy. You can open the door.
Me: No I can't dearest, we take to wait for your time.
Koa: Nooooow is my time!
A few minutes afterwards…
Koa: OK nosotros an go now Mommy, information technology's my time I think. Let's go to the dentist!
And it went on like this until eleven when nosotros finally did leave. In the meantime, he brushed his teeth five times with two different toothbrushes, and flossed with 5 different floss sticks. He LOVES brushing and flossing his teeth. Seriously, he reminds me that he needs to brush and floss every night earlier bed. My iii year old. He's weird.

Discover the truck and toothbrush. Haha
Only hey, he was a a champ and permit her make clean his teeth no problem, the dentist was impressed with his teeth, and I didn't have to lie about flossing his teeth. Win win. Oh! And they had a Mater toothbrush and little toothpaste for him. Yeah, we went to Costco later his appointment and he carried both of them around the store, but couldn't use it until later because they had "painted vitanims" on his teeth.
Have a wonderful weekend!
